Pelargonium, native to South Africa, called Umckaloabo by Zulu shamans, contains substances that can relieve viruses and infections. Geranium root or pelargonium root was already recommended by Hildegard von Bingen against flu and severe coughs, as it widens the airways and makes breathing easier.
