Supplement or not?
Vitamin B12 is important for a healthy brain and blood. It is essential for the formation of red blood cells, in neurological function and DNA synthesis. Waking up tired, lack of concentration and memory, and loss of sensitivity in the limbs, for example, are common symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency.
Recommended for:
Anyone whose metabolism has difficulty processing vitamins, pregnant or lactating women, and people who are vegan or vegetarian.
Metabolism of vitamins is as important as the amount taken. Absorption depends on several processes. Special gastric and pancreatic secretions must be produced for it to be absorbed in the small intestine. However, our body can recycle this vitamin through the enterohepatic circulation, in which it recovers a large part of the vitamin excreted by the bile.
Vitamin B12 sources
Vitamin B12 can be absorbed by the body through the consumption of animals and their derivatives (eggs, milk, cheese), but not necessarily in sufficient quantities.
For a better diagnosis and interpretation of the results, it is advisable to seek medical advice or nutritional counseling. If you are vegan or vegetarian, you may not be getting enough B12.
At the high dosage we offer here, you only need 2-3 tablets per week.
People over 50 are recommended to take at least one a week.
