What is Vitamin K2?
Vitamin K2 is very different from Vitamin K1, the two are so dissimilar that they should actually be named differently. They have different purposes and effects in the body. Vitamin K is a group of compounds known as quinones, which the body needs to make certain types of proteins for normal blood clotting and bone health.
Vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) is found primarily in green leafy vegetables such as spinach and kale, while
Vitamin K2 (menaquinone) is produced by bacteria in human and animal intestines.
Vitamin K2 promotes healthy bones, supports blood clotting and is fat soluble.
Therefore, you should combine it with valuable oil so that it can be best absorbed and utilized by the body.
Menaquinone is formed by bacteria in the intestinal flora. In many people, however, the intestinal flora is out of balance, so that the production of vitamin K2 no longer takes place as well, which can have an unfavorable effect on bone formation and blood clotting. Studies show links with arteriosclerosis (hardening of the blood vessels) and cardiovascular disease. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has so far only confirmed the positive effect on bone health and blood clotting.
Particularly recommended in combination with our high-dose vitamin D3.
Studies suggest that the synergy of vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 can prevent and/or even cure many diseases!
