Damiana grows as a bushy shrub and grows up to one meter under good conditions. On the branches hang small leaves, which are sawn in at the edges. The leaves are removed from the branches and carefully dried. As a wild form Damiana occurs in Argentina on rocky locations at high altitude from 1000m.
