In the past, DMSO was obtained as a waste product from pulp production. This DMSO is often referred to as "natural" DMSO.
The purity of this "natural" DMSO, however, very often leaves something to be desired and rarely reaches values ??of over 80% purity. In addition, this DMSO is very often contaminated with unhealthy residues such as adhesives and other solvents.
Our DMSO is produced synthetically, as this is the only way to achieve the high degree of purity according to Ph.Eur. of 99.9% can be achieved and the safe use of the DMSO can be guaranteed.

DMSO is used in general medicine to treat inflammation. A particular advantage of DMSO is that, as a carrier substance, it can penetrate deep into the skin and right into the cells. The actual active ingredient is "placed" on the DMSO. DMSO drugs are therefore usually combined preparations.
However, dimethyl sulfoxide makes no difference which substance is just entering the body. It helps useful and dangerous substances alike to get deep into the intercellular space. This can lead to health consequences if used improperly.
Therefore, the area on which the DMSO is to be applied must be absolutely clean. Before applying DMSO, clean the area extremely thoroughly with sterile (boiled) water. Also dirt residues e.g. Gasoline residue from refueling must not even come near the wound when you use dimethyl sulfoxide. DMSO makes the skin permeable to everything it touches and guides it into the cells. Risk of inflammation or blood poisoning!
