The yellow-golden Cajá fruit is about the size of a plum and contains a very pleasant-tasting juicy, slightly acidic, aromatic pulp, which is mainly used in Brazil to prepare fresh juices. It impresses with plenty of vitamins A, B, C, E, calcium, phosphorus and iron.
The cajá shell is hard and it has relatively large cores. The trees bear fruit all year round and reach heights of up to 25 m. They grow in some Amazon regions (Pará) and in northeastern Brazil.
Sun protection from the inside out
In Brazil Cajá is called "sun protection from the inside", it has a high nutritional value and is used in nutritional science and in sports and is recommended by doctors.
Skin irritation from too much sun which is caused by free radicals is mitigated by the vitamins beta carotene, C and E
Skin aging is delayed because beta carotene protects the cells from too much UV light, and vitamin E supports the beta carotene. Vitamin C supports vitamin E.
Calcium prevents the release of histamines, which can trigger allergic skin reactions.
100g Juice Pads (frozen) made from 100% sun-ripened, pureed Cajá without preservatives and other additives!
A natural, healthy pleasure
About Caja trees (Tapereba, Mombin plum, Spondias mombin, Anacardiaceae)
The Mombin plum tree originally grows in Central America. Today Caja trees are grown in plantations in South America, where they are trimmed to a maximum size of 2 meters. The fruits are 2.5-5 cm wide, variable in shape, elongated oval to pear-shaped and have a thin, smooth, yellow skin. The flesh is only 1-4 mm thick, deep yellow, juicy and quite difficult to separate from the stone core. The fruits are rich in provitamin A and iron.
About the Caja fruit
The Mombin plum tastes sweet and sour, aromatic. It is very popular in Brazil because of its intense fragrance and distinctive taste, as well as its yellow-orange color. In Europe, it is hardly ever offered as a fresh fruit due to its short shelf life and relatively low pulp content. The puree and juice are used to make fruit juices and the alcoholic beverage "Batida de Cajá".
